About Me

My dad only listens to the news in the car. On our way to school Maryanne Zeleznik taught me about corruption in Cincinnati politics. On our way home from swim practice, Ari Shapiro droned on about the effects of Brexit on the global economy.

With other people in the car, on our way to celebrate academic or athletic accomplishments, even on birthdays, National Public Radio was the only thing that played.

I didn’t realize the significance back then, but as the political culture of the United States shifted after the 2016 election, having responsible journalism that was both easily accessible and prioritized by the adults around me, helped shaped the way I pursue journalism, its role in our democracy and how its depiction of the world affects my broader understanding.

This realization, coupled with the time to nurture it, allowed me to branch into photo, video, writing and any other form of media I could get my hands on.

Now in my second year at Ohio University, I am studying in Journalism and International Relations with a minor in German. As a compassionate and enthusiastic student and storyteller, I prioritize authenticity and community in my work.

I am committed to building relationships between journalists and the public; dedicated to providing people with a platform to engage with local issues and amplify diverse perspectives and determined to create compelling stories that unite and uplift communities across the globe.

As I work toward graduation, I am eager to explore the world of foreign correspondence and diplomacy – both figurative and literally! Education has the power to change lives and I am excited to see where this journey leads. I invite you to join me in whatever capacity you can!
